Swimming Gala 2019

On Monday 1^st April, 20 children from Years 5 and 6 took part in the Large School’s Swimming Gala. This annual event is extremely competitive, with each child only being allowed to compete in 2 events.

Getting to the finals in an event scores one point each time, so Powell’s had amassed 17 points before the finals of the races. They went on to score another 19 points by finishing first, second or third, giving a grand total of 36 points. This meant that they won the overall gala and retained the trophy they had won the previous year.
