KS1 Library Opening
On Thursday the 7th March, all of the school councillors met to watch the opening of our new Key Stage 1 library. Deirdre Waddell, a former governor for our school who has helped Powell’s immensely, declared the library open by cutting a red ribbon before giving a few words. She spoke about how much she loves reading and showed us some of her favourite books that she has treasured all of her life. She also gave an inspiring speech about how there is a book for everyone and that you should never stop reading. We then celebrated with squash and biscuits and read some of the books Deirdre herself donated to us. We are immensely grateful for the support she has offered, and we will enjoy this new library greatly. Written by Max Manning YR6.
