Egyptian Day
Year 3 had a wonderful day on Monday 4th June, being immersed into Ancient Egyptian life. 'Doc' an Egyptologist came to visit the school to find out if we had any children knowledgeable enough to join her team! They found out many facts about the Ancient Egyptians: how they lived, the units they used for measurement, the process of the preparation and burial of a Pharaoh, animals on the Nile and heard Ancient Egyptian stories.
"I thought that it was great. It was good that the Egyptologist came in. I found it interesting and I learnt lots."
Niall Bagot, Class 7
"It was fun. I liked Doc. She was funny and I learnt lots."
Aggie Mylchreest, Class 8
We purchased an 'Egyptian' coin for each child, using our money from the cake bakes, which were a lovely memento of the day. Huge thanks to the Friends of Powell's for this.
